Hello Everyone!!!
I chose not to have internet in my apartment...Someone please shock Garry back to life. :) Chris has the net in his apartment, so I will be on his computer occasionally to update this thingie and check out everyone's website. So keep posting comments! you guys are doing great!
So life in kent is better than expected. I've made friends with my neighbors. They are a group of West Africans who moved to Kent because they never heard of it before. Unfourtunately no one told them that we had this crazy thing called the Lake Effect during snow storms. They said that they are getting used to it though, and really like Kent. Daniel keeps telling Chris and I that we need to visit their country so he can show us that Africa isn't the barren wasteland that most people think it is. Maybe next summer we will go with them. I think it would be fun. The other thing about these guys is that they can DRINK! Holllly Crap! Congo took 4 beer bongs in a row and smiled the whole time. Fredrick, who looks like a clean shaven Al with a deeper tan, is a tank! lol. I love these guys. I also met alot of Chris' neighbors and have become friends with them. The second and third house down are all girls, so it's nice to get an escape from the usual all male climate. Chris' roomates are great! Dan is already a great friend. Luke, he was the one that was calling me Momma Val. I start cooking dinner and as more people come in I make more food. Everyone said it's like having a mom in the house. :) Finlay and I are in International Marketing together, and we always hang out because our schedules are very similar. Jesse is cool. He works with Chris and he's a really nice guy. We wrestled around the other day. It takes me back to the days when Luke and his friends and I rough-housed. I feel right at home. Rob is the one I really don't know that well. He seems like a really good guy. He's the hermit of the house. He's always locked up in his room. oh well.
Classes are really interesting too. Although I had to pay $617 for books!!!!! GRRR!!! My favorite so far is Advertising. Luke, I can see why you find it so facinating. I also love my Consumer Behavior class, though it looks like it may turn out to be quite difficult.
Chris and I are amazing! We see each other every day, and he always finds a way to set some time alone for just us and let me know how special I am. Whether it's going for a walk, or taking me out to eat, or riding the motorcycle, or sitting down somewhere on campus just to talk: he always finds a way to make me feel like I am the greatest thing that's ever happened to him. He is the funniest, most caring, most honest, and most loveable person I've ever met. So yes, everyone who hasn't seen it yet... I am in love with Christopher Patrick Dies and I am very happy about it!
I am home for 24 hrs to print out notes, ride my horses, visit with mom and grandma, and pet my Chance. This is probably the last time i'll be home for awhile thanks to gas prices. I love something I heard Mr. Genius Presidente say: "Don't buy gas if you don't need it." Well thank you, Sir! I will remember that! I was going to go buy a cupfull just to have it around the house, but I won't since you said that..... ah that Bush, he's a pretty funny guy.
So I rode Trumbie and Joker since I've been home. They are both such great horses! It seems like no matter what is going on in life, when I sit on their backs, everything goes away and the world is a better place. I could see every single star and watch every airplane hum across the sky. I could breathe in the sweet clover. I could feel the dew on my skin and the muscles of the animal beneath me extending and contracting in the long powerful steps. We cantered in the dark and I felt so free with the wind flowing through my hair and the grass brushing against my legs. OOOK back to reality. As you can see, riding is what makes me tick. It brings me more alive than most people would believe. I am so glad I could come home and get my fix.
When I get back up to Kent tonite, we are throwing a weekend-long party, then I will call about some job leads. I've applied at a few places, including Quizno's... hahah how crazy would that be? Garry, we would have even more to talk about. lol. So hopefully something will materialize.
Well, I'm going to get back to my notes. Fight Club is on... I love this movie. It's so damn crazy.
Everyone Take Care! Love Everybody!
